My name is Reyn Sewell, and I’m excited at the opportunity to do life and ministry with all of you at Henning Memorial in the near future!
Here’s a little bit about me - I am originally from Pineville, LA, and, after graduating high school, I attended college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. There I pursued and received a degree in Medical Biology, but, after receiving a call to vocational ministry, I decided to attend seminary once I graduated. I received my ministerial education and training at Asbury Theological Seminary outside of Lexington, Kentucky, and there earned my Masters in Divinity degree.
I’ve been married to my wife, Brittany, for three and a half years, and I’m very thankful to have her by my side. Brittany graduated from Louisiana Tech, and she currently works as Speech Therapist in the St. Tammany school system. Brittany and I have a 14-month-old son named Jack, and he brings us so much joy!
Outside of family life, I enjoy exercising and competing in obstacle course competitions, adventure races, and triathlons.
I have been a Methodist since birth, and I have served as a pastor in the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church for three years now. I’ve learned so much from my experience serving as the pastor of Waldheim UMC, and I’m eager to get started at Henning, knowing this next season of life and ministry will continue to shape me as a person and as a pastor.
I’m passionate about seeing lives transformed by God’s grace within community, and I believe God wants to work through every person who follows Jesus to extend the love, hope, joy, peace, and healing found in him. It’s my hope for every person to see how the Gospel speaks to every area of life and to empower people to become every day missionaries who display the Gospel through their actions and declare the Gospel with their words. I’m eager to explore new ways of being and doing church with all of you in order to maximize our missional impact and expand the Kingdom of God in the city of Sulphur and beyond.
My family and I look forward to meeting all of you soon and becoming a part of what God is already doing in you and through you!
