Choir. . . what do people think of when they hear the word "Choir"? Perhaps they imagine really great singers who give lots of extra time to learn music that will be sung in front of an audience.
If they are in the HMUMC 10:30 Chancel Choir, I hope they imagine a group of called servants of the Lord who use their time and talents to rehearse music over at least a six-week period working a little each week to get the anthems ready. There is a lot of fun and fellowship, prayers and practice, hard work and heartfelt singing, caring and comfort.
If they are in the 8:00 Chancel Choir, they imagine a group of servants of the Lord who come together on Sunday mornings before worship for about 25 minutes to learn something new to sing that morning and review the hymns for the day. They experience prayers, practice, family, and fellowship.
The children who come for PSSST! (Pre-Sunday School Singing Time) know they will be loved and treated with dignity as they find their singing voices and begin to participate as worship leaders while learning about our holy history as a singing church.
Isn't it time for you to RETHINK CHOIR and find your place in one of our choirs?
